Things Never Said (2020)
This body of work is an exploration of emotions as they are experienced within the body.
Taken from my personal experience of ever-changing states of mind, as a response to triggers and stimuli, the work is the beginning of finding a way to express things never said. Thoughts and feelings one might be uncomfortable to discuss, inner conflict, moments of stillness and peace, heavy-hearted silence.
Through the creation of headless, androgynous figures I focus on body gestures, for example, fight stance to express the tension of anxiety without tying the experience of it to any specific identity. Hopefully this way a greater audience can empathise with the work.
